FAllow View
RICHMOND Station
Railing in bronze, 10m
Commissioned by London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames, 2021
Art consultant: Modus Operandi
Fabrication: Benson Sedgwick
This railing is inspired by the silhouette of a fallow deer antler, chosen for its association with the nearby Richmond Park. The arrangement of the antlers takes its cue from the form of a paper chain unfolded and stretched along the street.
Fallow View was commissioned alongside the installation of a cycle hub by Richmond Station. The brief asked for the railing to reflect the local environment and character of Richmond and also to deter bicycles being chained to the panels.
